1. Overview of MPS Programs
Students from the Mission Parish School are offered a wide range
of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. There is literally
something for everyone. From the opportunity for boys and girls
to participate in a multitude of sports; to try their hand at drama
in a fantastic stage presentation held every spring; to sing in
the choir inside the famous Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano;
to the intellectually challenging Academic Decathlon, and much more.
This broad range of activities delivers a well-rounded background
for the children equipping them with the tools they will need to
be tomorrow's leaders.
2. St. Joseph's Day Guidelines
The criteria used to select the Royal Court are as follows:
- Eighth grade students who have attended MPS continuously for the most years and have participated in St. Joseph’s Day dances for the most years will be considered eligible, providing their conduct and effort are very good.
- A panel of administrators will then select the king, queen, and Royal Court from the eligible students.
3. May Crowning Guidelines
The criteria used to select the May Crowning participant are as follows:
- Students who have been selected for the Royal Court are not eligible to be chosen to crown the Blessed Virgin Mary.
- Eighth grade girls, whose conduct and effort in all areas has been consistently good, will be eligible for this honor.
- Students will be asked to submit an essay to the eighth grade teacher by a certain date. After review of the essays by a panel of personnel, a girl will be chosen to receive the honor of crowning the Blessed Virgin Mary.

4. Water Education Program
One of the most successful and well-recognized water-education curriculums in Southern California is the Municipal Water District of Orange County's (MWDOC) School Education Program. For more than 30 years, MWDOC teachers, assisted by mascot "Ricki the Rambunctious Raindrop," have been educating students in grades K-12 about the water cycle, the importance and value of water, and the personal responsibility we all have as environmental stewards.
Students at MPS experience a class lesson each year and learn about topics such as
- Scarcity of water in California
- The forms and sources of water
- The water cycle
- Water storage, filtration, treatment, recycling & conservation
5. Inside the Outdoors Traveling Scientist Program

MPS students particpate in the following programs:
- Pre K: Creature Feature
