Singing and music have been a long-standing tradition at Mission
Parish School. From the early days, at our Mission, our children
have greeted the return of the Swallows in song!
Our Children's Choir focuses on liturgical music, both contemporary
and traditional. The children rehearse during school hours and sing
at school Masses throughout the liturgical/school year. There are
currently 48 singers on our roster, ranging from 4th - 8th grade.
The children are learning correct vocal and breathing techniques
along with simple harmonies. Our older choir singer (8th grade)
are learning to cantor at our Masses. This is a wonderful opportunity
for the singers to blend their musical skills with their leadership
skills and share their talents by encouraging the congregation to
join with the choir in singing!
Our choir focuses on using our talents to serve the Lord. All children
from 4th through 8th grade are welcome to join us without auditions.
All the children need is a love of music and a desire to serve the
Lord through their musical gifts.
