While study skills are always an integral part of our curriculum,
we offer a specific study skills program for our fourth through
eighth graders. We use the Mangrum-Strichart Learning Resources
program called "Teaching Study Skills and Strategies in Grades 4-8."
This program provides opportunities for active learning in the
classroom. The activities help students master study skills and
strategies important for success in many subject areas. Teaching
students to use study skills and strategies effectively is an important
step in transforming dependent learners into independent learners.
This program is designed to help students become independent learners
in an increasingly technology-based learning environment.
