The Resource Center and Inclusion Program are currently under review. We hope to establish a school-wide philosophy in regards to inclusive education.
The Resource Center is an integral part of the educational philosophy
at Mission Parish School which encourages all children to achieve
success according to their unique potential.
Established in 1999, the Resource Center is an important component
in our school's inclusion program. During the school year, students'
needs are reviewed to determine if a remediation and/or enrichment
program would be beneficial. The Resource Specialist and Student
Achievement Team work together to develop specific learning goals.
The goals may be achieved within the classroom setting or in the
Resource Center. Updated computers in the Resource Center are able
to assist students as they participate in the A + program. This
new program provides both diagnostic information and practice in
the academic areas of language arts and math.
Mission Parish School is fortunate to have many dedicated parent
volunteers who have been instrumental in helping students in the
Resource Center.
