What an exciting year we have ahead of us with our AR Program.  Thanks to an anonymous donor, we have been able to increase our AR quiz list from 2,400 quizzes to over 100,000 quizzes!!!  We have access to ALL AR quizzes that are available.  In addition, each Friday, new quizzes are added to our program. 

By accessing the link below, you can now search for a book quiz by title, author, interest level, book level, point level, topic, etc.  This is an easy way for all students, parents, and teachers to access which quizzes are available for their favorite books.  Try it out and let us know what you think!

AR Book Find

Another wonderful enhancement we are working on is turning our current Fine Arts Room into a Library/Media Center.  We are doubling the book volume of our library from 1,600 books to 3,200 books.  We have all new furniture including tables, chairs, and bookcases.

Accelerated Reader (AR) is the world's most popular reading management software. It allows students to read about topics according to their individual needs or desires and builds an intrinsic LOVE OF READING. AR provides teachers with an easy and effective way to monitor all forms of guided reading practice. The STAR Reading Assessment, which works hand-in-hand with Accelerated Reading, allows the teacher to help students chose a book at an appropriately challenging level.

Students get excited about books and collect points after taking computerized tests. AR helps students focus attention on careful reading of books, which improves their critical thinking skills. AR reading can be fun and yet each student can be challenged. Teachers can obtain reliable, objective diagnostics that give valuable data on students' reading. AR aligns with our state standards. AR helps teachers raise scores on state tests and ensures mastery of standards which research has proven.
